CNC Boring Bar Operator
Responsibilities:
- Set up and run a CNC boring bar
- Fabricate or repair parts per customer specifications with attention to detail
- Perform inspections using handheld gages
- Manufacture parts within tight tolerances
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion
- Load and unload equipment and materials
- Provide innovative solutions to improve machine shop efficiency
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance on the machines
- Will need to keep area clean and clutter free for safety
- This position can be very physical as you are working with bigger parts
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience on GibbsCAM software
- Knowledge of Boring Bar or Horizontal Machining Center set ups
- Knowledge of speeds and feeds for HSS and carbide tooling
- Knowledge of crane rigging for large parts safety
- Understanding of lathes, mills, grinders, and/or CNC operation
- General understanding of metal characteristics and grades
- General mechanical aptitude and familiarity with machine shop practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements.
- Capable of mathematical calculations to determine dimensions as well as making minor changes
- Motivated with the ability to follow precise instructions
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings
- Ability to work individually, maintaining efficiency and effectiveness
- High School diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or apprenticeship preferred
Wage/Salary: $22 – $27/hour, BASED ON EXPERIENCE
Full Time Position: 1st Shift: Monday thru Thursday 6:00 am – 4:00pm Occasional Fridays required
